Two more cast members have been announced on the official X account of the upcoming anime “Tis Time for “Torture,” Princess“.
Yoko Kanemori (episode director for Attack on Titan, The Ancient Magus’ Bride, among others) will be directing for studio PINE JAM. Kazuyuki Fudeyasu (e.g. My Rebirth as Slime in Another World, In the Land of Leadale) will handle the scripts, while Toshiya Kono (e.g. sub-character design for Black Marks) and Satoshi Furuhashi (e.g. prop design assistant for Comet Lucifer) will contribute the character designs. Masaru Yokoyama (e.g. Queen’s Blade: The Exiled Virgin, Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans) is composing the music. The series is set to premiere in January 2024.
Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ service has published the manga series since April 2019 and comprises 11 volumes to date. The story can be followed free of charge in English via the MANGA Plus service and the associated app.
Tis Time for “Torture,” Princess Anime Storyline:
In the course of an ongoing conflict between the Imperial Army and the Hell Horde, the Princess of the Empire has been captured along with her sacred sword, Ex. Since regular torture is forbidden under a treaty on the treatment of prisoners of war, the great inquisitor Torture Tortura is always coming up with new and unusual “torture methods”, mostly involving tempting food and snacks from Japanese culture, to get the princess to talk.
